About this site:

About this site:

The fiscal 2012 Sustainability Review brings together information on the World Bank’s commitment to sustainable development building on the Annual financial report, and using international standards as the foundation.

In the Governance and Accountability section, readers can use the links provided to delve deeper into the World Bank's governing structure, project cycle, and accountability mechanisms.

Stakeholder Responsibility reviews the Bank's interactions with shareholders, partners, clients, and civil society. This section also highlights the Bank's commitment to a quality workplace, ensuring fair staff benefits, and staff safety.

The Corporate Environmental Responsibility section reviews initiatives under way to measure and reduce the Bank's corporate environmental impact, including greenhouse gas emissions associated with our day-to-day internal operations, and our upstream and downstream impacts. This is where readers can find the corporate carbon inventory and Inventory Management Plan.

While the World Bank has published stand-alone Sustainability Reports in the past, this website has been set up to provide a library of information about sustainability within the World Bank, with links to further and more current information. A comprehensive Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) index, with responses to specific indicators, is updated annually.

The GRI index, in addition to our previous reports, is available under the GRI Index tab.

Questions or requests for additional information should be addressed to crinfo@worldbank.org.
